Megève · Weekly rental · Winter
Fully renovated, facing the Aravis range: three master suites, two bunk rooms, a great room under the rafters, a bar and a private chef. Sixteen guests, the whole house to yourselves.

Outside
The farmhouse has kept its shape: a broad roof, timber cladding, thick walls. Facing it, the Aravis range and the whole Megève valley. The slopes are forty seconds away on foot.
Outside, a hot tub set in the snow and sheltered corners for a cigar at the end of the evening.

Snow outside. Fire inside.
The great room
This is where the house lives: exposed timber frame, a central fireplace open on both sides, deep sofas for sixteen, and the dining table in the same space.

The table
A chef cooks for you all week: breakfast, lunch and dinner. Before you arrive, you talk the week's menus through together and the chef organises the meals and does the shopping for you. The long table seats all sixteen, a few steps from the fire.
How the chef works · The cost of the groceries is paid by the guests.

Bedrooms
Each master suite has its own dressing room and bathroom. The two bunk rooms, six beds and four, each have their own bathroom too: the children, or the friends, get their own wing.

Bar & games
A semi-professional bar, fully equipped, ice machines included, for the first drink and the last. Next door, the foosball table and its beanbags.

The TV room
A room of its own for film nights and match days: big screen, oversized beanbags to sink into after skiing, and a library along the whole wall.

Ski-in / ski-out
You come out of the ski room, click into your skis and forty seconds later you are on the piste. In the evening you come back the same way. No shuttle, no car, no boots carried through the village.

Megève
Created in the 1920s by the Rothschild family as a French answer to St. Moritz, Megève has kept what the resorts built in concrete never had: a real village, a cobbled square, horse-drawn sleighs at nightfall. And around that square, three-star tables, grand hotel spas and the boutiques of the great houses.

Skiing
The chalet opens straight onto the Evasion Mont-Blanc ski area: 445 km of pistes and 110 lifts linking seven villages, from 850 to 2,353 m. Long gentle runs through the trees, off-piste with a guide, and Mont Blanc in front of you nearly all the way down.
The tables
Emmanuel Renaut has held three Michelin stars at Flocons de Sel, above the village, for years; Megève has another starred table with Vous, and a long list of mountain restaurants, farmhouse inns reached by sleigh and dinners that end with the tables pushed back for dancing. The concierge books them, including the ones that are full.
Shopping
Everything is within walking distance around the square: Hermès, the historic AAllard house, which invented the stretch ski trouser here in the 1930s, and the village boutiques carrying Loro Piana, Céline, Brunello Cucinelli, Fendi or Saint Laurent, plus the watchmakers on rue Charles Feige.
Spa & thermal baths
The village spas take outside guests for a massage or a day of treatments, and the thermal baths of Saint-Gervais Mont-Blanc, with naturally hot water and outdoor pools in the snow, are about twenty minutes away. Or you stay in, and the therapist comes to the chalet.
The altiport
Megève has its own mountain airfield, right on the slopes. From there, a twenty to fifty minute flight by plane or helicopter takes you around Mont Blanc, over the glaciers and the Aiguille du Midi. It is the most spectacular hour of the week, and it is easy to arrange for the whole house.
Nearby
Chamonix and the Aiguille du Midi cable car are thirty-five minutes away by car, for a day on the Vallée Blanche or simply for the view. Geneva airport is about an hour and a quarter, with transfers arranged on request.
Rates & availability
Depending on the period. Weekly rental, whole house, up to sixteen guests.
The chalet is let directly by its managing company, SCI DEMETER (Paris). You deal with the people who look after the house, without an intermediary.

Good to know
The house in its entirety, the private chef all week (breakfast, lunch and dinner), daily housekeeping, house and bath linen, firewood and the four parking spaces. The groceries for the meals are paid by the guests. The exact list is set out in the rental agreement sent with our proposal.
Before your arrival, the chef gets in touch to suggest the week's menus and organise the meals with you. The chef does the shopping; the cost of the groceries is paid by the guests. Then breakfast, lunch and dinner are cooked at the chalet every day.
The chalet is let by the week. Arrival and departure days, and the times, are confirmed with your dates. Tell us your flight and we will fit around it where we can.
The dates are held as soon as the agreement is signed, with a deposit; the balance is due before arrival. The amounts and the schedule are given in the agreement.
A security deposit is taken before arrival and released after the house is checked. The cancellation terms are set out in the agreement. Ask us and we will send it before you commit to anything.
The two bunk rooms sleep six and four, each with its own bathroom. Cots, high chairs and babysitting are arranged on request.
Sheltered smoking corners are set up outside. For pets, ask us when you enquire, as the answer depends on the dates.
Geneva airport is about 1 h 15 by road. We arrange the transfer, a driver for the week, or a helicopter to the Megève altiport.
On the slopes, forty seconds on foot from the piste, a few minutes from the centre of Megève. We give the precise address once the stay is confirmed.
